Celebrating Creativity Across the Eurobodalla The inaugural Quantum Art Prize is a new opportunity for local artists to showcase their work, connect with the community, and compete for cash prizes in a professionally curated exhibition.

Hosted in The Cool Room at Quantum Brewery Moruya, the Art Prize celebrates artistic expression inspired by two unique themes:

Year of the Woman Farmer + Year of the Fire Horse

Open exclusively to artists living within the Eurobodalla region, the Quantum Art Prize aims to support local creativity while providing artists with valuable exhibition opportunities and public exposure.

Key Dates

Entries Open: 8:00 am Monday 1 July 2026

Entries Close: 5:00 pm Monday 7th September 2026

Finalists Announced: Monday 14 September 2026

Exhibition Dates: Friday 25 September to Sunday 4 October 2026

Opening Event: Saturday 26 September Exhibition 11 am to 5 pm opening times

Entry Information

The Quantum Art Prize is open to artists aged 18 years and over who reside within the Eurobodalla region.

Entry Fee

$20 per artwork

Entry Requirements

All entries must:

  • Have been created within the last 12 months

  • Be original works and must not involve the use of AI

  • Be available for sale

  • Remain on display for the full exhibition period if selected as a finalist

  • Include an artist statement connecting the artwork to the themes Year of the Woman Farmer or Year of the Fire Horse

  • Be submitted through the official online entry form

  • Artists may submit multiple entries, however no more than two works per artist may be selected as finalists.

  • Each artwork must be submitted separately.

Artwork Specifications

2D Artworks

• Exhibition ready

• Professionally framed or fitted with D rings suitable for hanging

• Maximum size 90cm x 90cm including frame

• Maximum weight 10kg

3D Artworks

• Maximum footprint of 1 square metre

• Maximum height of 2 metres

• Artists are responsible for installation of 3D works

Judging Process

The Quantum Art Prize is judged anonymously through a two-stage blind judging process.

Stage One

Selection of finalists from submitted digital images.

Stage Two

Selection of winners from the exhibited artworks.

All entries will be assessed on artistic merit by a panel of local artists.

The judges' decision is final. Our Three Judges: Liz McCrystal

Liz is an artist and arts worker interested in fostering community engagement through the arts. Her creative practice includes photography, installation, curation, and facilitation, with a focus on collaborative and socially conscious initiatives. Liz creates opportunities for artists and audiences to connect and share stories that spark dialogue. Liz is the founder of Fishbowl, a window front art gallery currently located at the Monarch Hotel, Moruya.

Dave Ramsland

Dave is a well-known, award winning, local Malua Bay artist. Working mainly in oils and mixed media, his focus is on depicting the transient beauty and fragility of the natural environment. He has also keenly supported the arts in the region, exhibiting in local art initiatives. His Burri Road studio is a popular venue for lovers of art.   Susan Nader

Susan is a mixed media artist exploring themes of place, the environment and the everyday. She graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Arts, (Fine Art) with Distinction in 2022. She was a finalist in Basil Sellars Art Prize 2020 and is a member of Comrades In Art (CIA), curating their exhibits yearly for the River of Art program. She is currently working towards a group exhibition for 2027 with two other artists. Susan is constantly inspired by the work of many contemporary artists and believes that art holds a

vital role in the community for all to participate in. Finalist Information

Finalists will:

  • Be invited to the exhibition opening

  • Be expected to assist with gallery supervision for approximately 3 to 4 hours during the exhibition period

  • Have their work displayed in The Cool Room at Quantum Brewery

  • Be eligible for prize money and the People's Choice Award

  • A commission of 10% applies to all artwork sales made during the exhibition to contribute to the cost of the exhibition.

Image Submission Requirements

Artists must submit one high-quality JPEG image per artwork.

Images must clearly show the entire artwork and accurately represent the final piece.

Please label image files using the following format:

Artist Name_Title_Medium_Year

Example: Jane Smith_Fire Horse_Acrylic Painting_2026

By entering the Quantum Art Prize, artists agree to the official Terms and Conditions.

Quantum Brewery reserves the right to reject any artwork deemed unsuitable for exhibition.

Artists retain full copyright ownership of their work. Finalists grant Quantum Brewery a non-exclusive licence to reproduce images of their artworks for promotional and exhibition purposes for a period of three years.
